A legislative proposal and explanatory note on changes to Statute XI (together with associated regulations) were published in Gazette No 5424, 23 May 2024. Notices of opposition were received, as set out in the Gazette No 5424, 6 June 2024.
As permitted by Council regulations 2 of 2002 (section 2.20(2)), Council decided to withdraw the legislative proposal. Members of Congregation were notified by the Registrar on the morning of 11 June 2024 that the meeting was cancelled and that the other items of business on the agenda would be declared carried.
