Planning and Council Secretariat (PACS) contributes to and monitors the main UK national and international university rankings, details of which can be found on this page. Most league table compilers purchase their information from the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA), but some metrics are gathered from other sources, including surveys, or through consultations with institutions.
League tables
A number of national and international league tables are published by various organisations, including newspapers. These generate significant media attention and play a role in informing student choice.
